Links to a banned organization were discovered in the Boryspil Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church
The State Service of Ukraine for Ethnic Policy and Freedom of Conscience has identified signs that the Boryspil Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is affiliated with a foreign religious organization.
The organization in question is one whose activities are prohibited on the territory of Ukraine.
In particular, it has been established that the administration of the Boryspil Diocese of the UOC is a structural unit of the UOC and is part of the Kyiv Metropolis of the UOC, which, in accordance with Ukrainian law, is recognized as affiliated with a foreign religious organization whose activities are prohibited in Ukraine.
The investigation also confirmed that the charter of the administration of the Boryspil Diocese of the UOC and the documents governing its activities attest to its affiliation with the Kyiv Metropolis of the UOC.
Furthermore, it was established that the charter of the Russian Orthodox Church provides for the head of the Boryspil Diocese of the UOC to be a member of the statutory governing bodies of the Russian Orthodox Church.
It is noted that the decision was made based on the results of an investigation that began on August 24, 2026, in accordance with the requirements of current legislation.
