In Kyiv, four local businesses received partial reimbursement of their insurance premiums under property insurance policies covering war risks. Thanks to this support, businesses were able to significantly reduce their insurance costs—from an average of 4.24% to 1.19%—which should make it easier to cover risks under current conditions.
This was reported with reference to Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
In total, 40 applications have already been received under the program for partial compensation of insurance premiums from the Kyiv, Lviv, Rivne, and Cherkasy regions, as well as Kyiv. The total cost of insurance coverage under these applications amounts to 4.3 billion UAH.
“The option for partial compensation of insurance premiums is available nationwide. Through the Export-Credit Agency (ECA), the state compensates up to 3 million UAH of the insurance cost. A property insurance contract against war risks is concluded with an insurance company, after which the policyholder applies to the ECA to receive compensation,” she explained.
The head of government emphasized that businesses in frontline regions have an additional opportunity to receive compensation for property damaged or destroyed as a result of shelling. The program provides for coverage of losses up to 30 million UAH. The participation fee is 0.5% of the property’s value within this amount.
“To take advantage of the program, you need to apply directly to the ECA. Currently, 106 applications have already been approved under the program. The total amount of potential compensation in the event of Russian attacks is 1.8 billion hryvnias,” Svyrydenko added.
Industrial parks in Ukrainecan receive up to 150 million UAH in support.
