For the class of 2027, they plan to announce the admission rules in advance and eliminate the state final exams

Ukraine plans to establish the rules for the higher education admissions process well in advance and to abolish the state final assessment for high school students who will graduate in 2027.

This was reported by the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Science, and Innovation.

This refers to Bill No. 15254, which provides for changes to admission rules and the abolition of the state final assessment for students completing their general secondary education in 2027.

The committee explained that the main goal of the initiative is to make the admissions process predictable so that students and their families know the admission requirements in advance, rather than being presented with new rules at the end of the year.

The document is also intended to give the Ministry of Education and the government more flexibility to adapt the admissions process to the conditions of martial law. Specifically, this involves the possibility of modifying assessment procedures instead of the traditional EIT model.

In a separate provision, the bill proposes not to conduct the state final assessment in 2027, as current legislation ties it to the format of the External Independent Evaluation.

The Ministry of Education and Science emphasized that the duration of school breaks during the year must be at least 30 calendar days, and schools may adjust the break schedule in the event of epidemiological restrictions or danger in the region.
