The Pension Fund of Ukraine explained which Ukrainians are eligible to receive both a pension and social assistance at the same time
People with disabilities since childhood may, under certain conditions, receive both a survivor’s pension and state social assistance at the same time. The Pension Fund has explained who is eligible for these benefits.
A person with a disability since childhood may receive two types of benefits simultaneously—a survivor’s pension and state social assistance. This is stated on the official website of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
The Pension Fund of Ukraine notes that this option is available to individuals who have had a disability since childhood and are simultaneously entitled to a survivor’s pension.
A survivor’s pension is granted to non-working family members of a deceased breadwinner if the grounds specified by law are met.
At the same time, state social assistance for individuals with a disability since childhood is granted in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On State Social Assistance for Individuals with a Disability Since Childhood and Children with Disabilities.”
Receiving a survivor’s pension does not deprive a person of the right to state social assistance for a disability since childhood. That is, if the relevant grounds exist, the payments may be made simultaneously.
The Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) emphasizes that to receive a survivor’s pension, one must be eligible for such a benefit. In particular, the status of the deceased’s family member and other conditions stipulated by law are taken into account.
If the disability was officially recognized after the age of 18 but actually arose before that age, you must provide documentary evidence of a childhood disability.
To apply for benefits, you must contact the Pension Fund of Ukraine and submit the required documents.

The Ukrainian government has also officially introduced a new procedure for reimbursing housing and utility costs for facilities hosting evacuated citizens.
Ukrainians who are eligible for both a housing subsidy and a benefit may choose one of these forms of state support. If the amount of the subsidy awarded is 0.00 UAH, the person may apply for the benefit.
