Pyshny recommended Vesely for a job at Sens Bank — Adjuner

The candidacy of businessman Vasyl Vesely for a position at “Sens Bank” was recommended by Andriy Pyshnyy, the head of the National Bank of Ukraine. According to Shevki Adjuner, Pyshnyy personally introduced him to Vesely even before the interview process began.

Adjuner said he met Vesely following discussions with National Bank representatives regarding the need to improve communication between the bank, the government, and other stakeholders.

At that time, the Supervisory Board of “Sens Bank” consisted of only five members. Adjuner noted that he himself had emphasized the need to strengthen communication.

“I met Mr. Vesely as a result of discussions with the NBU regarding the need to improve communication between the government and stakeholders,” he said.

The former chairman of the supervisory board also claims that it was Andriy Pyshnyy who introduced him to Veselyi. According to him, even before the official interview process began, he was told what role the businessman could potentially play at the bank.

“They explained to me that Mr. Vesely could be trusted as the bank’s liaison with stakeholders before the bank began the interview process,” Adjuner stated.

After Vesely was appointed manager of communications with government authorities, according to Adjuner, “SENS Bank” experienced fewer problems in its interactions with the National Bank.

This was stated by the bank’s former supervisory board chairman, Shevki Adzuner, during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada’s Temporary Investigative Commission.

Sens Bank has appointed an interim head.

The High Anti-Corruption Court imposed a preventive measure on Oleksiy Stupak, chairman of the board of Sens Bank, in the form of bail set at 15 million hryvnias, which must be paid within five days. The prosecutor’s office had demanded 150 million hryvnias.

Searches were also conducted at Sens Bank as part of a special anti-corruption operation by NABU and the SAPO.
