Following changes in the government, there may be personnel changes at the SBU and the State Bureau of Investigation

People's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak announced possible new personnel changes in law enforcement agencies and the government. According to him, these include replacing the leadership of the State Bureau of Investigations, selecting a candidate for the head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), and further changes to the composition of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Zheleznyak said his sources indicate the likelihood of a new wave of resignations following personnel decisions regarding the government.

In particular, the MP noted that rumors are currently circulating about the possible nomination of a new head of the Security Service of Ukraine, as well as preparations to replace the director of the State Bureau of Investigations.

At the same time, Zheleznyak emphasized that he has no confirmation of this information as of now, so he urged people to treat it as unconfirmed reports.

Separately, he commented on possible changes in the Cabinet of Ministers. According to the lawmaker, the candidate for the new prime minister must first be determined—suggesting that Oleksiy Koretskyi, CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine, could be the one—after which the future composition of the government will become clear.

“Let’s put it this way: if an hour ago I estimated Koretsky’s chances of becoming prime minister at 95%, now they’re at 99%,” the MP commented.

In addition, Zheleznyak stated that some of the president’s personnel decisions may concern the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense. He also expressed the view that the appointment of a new head of the Ministry of Defense could be accompanied by a difficult vote in the Verkhovna Rada. In particular, the lawmaker suggested that if Mykhailo Fedorov were nominated for this position, such a decision “would make for a very difficult vote for him.”

As a reminder, the Rada has named potential candidates for the position of prime minister.

On July 12, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced preparations for personnel changes in the Cabinet of Ministers and the leadership of law enforcement agencies, which are intended to ensure the implementation of the state’s updated political strategy.

Earlier, Svyrydenko denied rumors about the dismissal of Education Minister Lisovyi.
