After his release from prison, a 50-year-old man from Khmelnytskyi committed crimes against children again
After his release from prison, a 50-year-old resident of the Khmelnytskyi region committed new crimes against the sexual integrity of children. The man was notified that he is suspected of these new offenses.
During the pre-trial investigation, law enforcement officials determined that two more girls, aged 14 and 15, had been victimized by his actions.
According to the investigation, in May 2026, he met the girls’ family and obtained their phone number. He then began calling the sisters, engaging them in conversations of a sexual nature, asking them intimate questions, and pressuring them to engage in sexual acts.
The man also repeatedly asked the girls to meet him. To do so, he traveled from Khmelnytskyi to the town in Vinnytsia Oblast where they lived and, during phone calls, persuaded them to come out to meet him.
In addition, during the investigation, law enforcement officers discovered files containing child pornography on the suspect’s tablet. According to the investigation, he accessed them via Telegram and stored them on the device.
As a reminder, the man had previously been notified that he was suspected of soliciting a 13-year-old girl for sexual purposes. Between March and May 2026, he communicated with her about sexual topics and repeatedly offered to meet her. In June, while attempting to meet her, he was detained by law enforcement. He was remanded in custody as a precautionary measure.
It has been established that the man had previously served a sentence for an especially serious crime against the sexual integrity of a minor and was released from prison in January 2026.
Currently, his actions are classified as the sexual corruption of minors and a young child, the solicitation of children for sexual purposes, as well as the acquisition of access to child pornography and its possession without the intent to sell or distribute it (Parts 1, 2 of Article 156, Parts 1 and 3 of Article 156-1, and Part 1 of Article 301-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court verdict.
