Police have revealed the first details of the murder of a soldier in Odesa
In Odesa, law enforcement officers detained a retiree suspected of murdering a 50-year-old serviceman. The man is believed to be involved in the crime.
The incident occurred on the morning of September 30 on Lyustdorfskaya Road. While on patrol, police officers discovered the body of a man with gunshot wounds in the middle of the roadway, next to a Chevrolet. Law enforcement officers identified and detained the retiree, who is believed to be involved in the murder.
During the initial investigative actions, police seized a number of pieces of physical evidence, including the murder weapon, spent shell casings, and other items that may be relevant to the investigation. All seized items were sent for forensic analysis.
The suspect has been notified of charges under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: intentional homicide and illegal handling of weapons, ammunition, or explosive substances.
The issue of imposing a preventive measure on the suspect is currently being decided. Investigators are examining several theories and motives for the murder and are establishing all the circumstances of the crime.
