The German ambassador visited Yagidne and paid tribute to the victims of the Russian occupation

German Ambassador to Ukraine Heiko Tomms visited the village of Yagidne in the Chernihiv region on the eve of the fourth anniversary of its liberation from Russian occupation.

This was reported by the German Embassy in Ukraine.

The diplomatic mission noted that during the occupation, more than 300 local residents were held in a basement, and dozens of people were killed.

Inscriptions about the deceased and children’s drawings still remain on the basement walls.

The diplomat’s visit was aimed at honoring the memory of the victims and supporting the local community.

As a reminder, Germany has called for the withdrawal of U.S. troops from the country.

Germany will also spend 650 billion euros on defense by 2030.
