Ukrainian Ambassador Yuriy Gusev has called off his divorce from his wife for the third time

Yuriy Gusev, Ukraine’s ambassador to Azerbaijan, and his wife Olga have decided to stay married and have abandoned their plans to divorce.

Gusev announced the couple’s joint decision, thanking his wife for her wisdom, patience, and willingness to meet him halfway. This is the third time the couple has reversed its decision to end their marriage.

“After more than a year of court proceedings, lengthy discussions, reflection, and a joint search for a solution, Olga Gusev and I have decided to save our family and continue our life’s journey together—as husband and wife, as a family,” the post reads.

Gusev thanked his wife for “our joint decision, wisdom, patience, and willingness to meet each other halfway.” “Special thanks to everyone who stood by us, supported us with kind words, prayers, or simply by caring,” he added.

According to khersonline.net, Yuriy and Olga Gusev attempted to officially dissolve their marriage three times. Gusev filed his first petition for divorce with the court in 2023. He made his next attempt in January 2025. Both petitions were dismissed without consideration.

In May 2025, Olga Guseva filed for divorce. However, on July 2, the court dismissed the case after the plaintiff’s side refused to continue the proceedings.

This was reported with reference to Gusev’s Facebook post.

Ukraine’s former ambassador to Poland declined a state award in protest.

Ukraine calls on Poland to make measured decisions and engage in diplomatic dialogue amid a new escalation in bilateral relations.

The third President of Ukraine, Viktor Yushchenko, emphasized that in relations between Ukraine and Poland, it is important to maintain the political formula of “we forgive and ask for forgiveness.”

Former Polish Sejm deputy Piotr Fogler returned his state award—the “Golden Cross of Merit”—to the president as a sign of protest and solidarity with Ukraine.
