The Rada approved the new cabinet, headed by Koretsky

On July 16, the Verkhovna Rada approved the new composition of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, headed by Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi. The decision was supported by 264 members of parliament.

At the same time, the parliament will consider the nominees for the positions of Minister of Defense and Minister of Foreign Affairs in separate votes.

The new government includes:

  • Denys Shmyhal – First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy;
  • Tetyana Berezhna – Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy – Minister of Culture;
  • Vsevolod Chentsov – Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration;
  • Vitaliy Bezgin – Minister for Communities, Territories, and Internally Displaced Persons;
  • Matvii Bidnyi – Minister of Youth and Sports;
  • Andriy Butenko – Minister of Education and Science;
  • Ivan Vygivsky – Minister of Internal Affairs;
  • Taras Vysotsky – Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food;
  • Mykola Kalashnyk – Minister of Recovery, Infrastructure, and Transportation;
  • Vitaliy Kim – Minister of Veterans Affairs;
  • Oleksandr Kravchenko – Minister of Economy and Environment;
  • Viktor Lyashko – Minister of Health;
  • Serhiy Marchenko – Minister of Finance;
  • Denis Maslov – Minister of Justice;
  • Denis Ulyutin – Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity;
  • Oksana Ferchuk – Minister of Digital Transformation.

As a reminder, the Verkhovna Rada received a proposal from Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi regarding the appointment of a new Cabinet of Ministers. This was announced by Parliament Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk.

On July 16, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Serhiy Koretsky as Prime Minister of Ukraine. His nomination was supported by 289 members of parliament.

Serhiy Koretskyi commented on the possible appointment of Ihor Klymenko as Ukraine’s Minister of Defense. He stated that he considers Klymenko a strong and professional leader, but noted that the final decision on the candidate for head of the defense ministry rests with the president.
