Ambulance workers are being offered a pay raise of up to 40,000 UAH
An online petition calling for reform of the emergency medical care system has been submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Among the key proposals is setting a minimum wage for ambulance workers at 40,000 hryvnias.
The authors also propose legislating a minimum crew composition for emergency medical teams—a driver and two paramedics—converting documentation to electronic format, and equipping all vehicles with modern communication devices.
In addition, the initiators advocate appointing heads of emergency medical care centers exclusively on a competitive basis and providing staff with modern uniforms and security for substations.
Separately, they propose equating an attack on emergency medical personnel while on duty with an attack on law enforcement officers, with a corresponding increase in criminal liability.
