Zelenskyy confirmed the strike on an ammunition depot in Vyshneve

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that during the Russian attack on July 6 in Vyshneve, Kyiv Oblast, an ammunition depot belonging to one of Ukroboronprom’s enterprises was hit. According to him, a criminal investigation has already been opened following the incident, and those responsible for what happened will be held accountable.

Zelenskyy confirmed that the ammunition depot was the specific target of the Russian strike. It belonged to one of the enterprises within the Ukroboronprom structure. The president emphasized that an official investigation has already begun following the attack. Law enforcement officials must establish all the circumstances of the incident and verify whether any violations occurred that could have compromised the facility’s security. “A criminal case has been opened, and those responsible will be held criminally liable,” Zelenskyy stated.

According to the president, accountability will not be limited to the investigation alone. He noted that personnel decisions will follow once the investigations are complete. “And, of course, there will be dismissals at Ukroboronprom,” the head of state said.

Zelenskyy did not specify exactly who might be fired or what violations the investigation has already identified. It is also not yet known whether the attack affected the company’s ongoing operations. A pre-trial investigation is currently underway. Law enforcement officials are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the Russian strike on the military facility and identifying the officials who may be held responsible for what happened. The head of state announced this during a conversation with journalists.

In Vyshneve, Kyiv Oblast, 253 private residential buildings were damaged as a result of the Russian attack. Nine people were killed in the strike. As of the evening of July 7, 18 victims were in medical facilities, where they are receiving the necessary care.

During the Russian attack on Vyshneve on the night of July 6, a dog named Yosya found himself locked inside a house engulfed in flames. His owners were certain he had perished, but the animal managed to escape the fire.
