Law enforcement officials have arrested the organizers of six schemes to evade mobilization
The Security Service of Ukraine, in cooperation with the National Police, has disrupted six large-scale networks involved in illegal migration and the forgery of medical documents in various regions of the country.
This was reported by the SBU.
The organizers of these schemes demanded sums ranging from $2,000 to $20,000 from conscripts in exchange for help in avoiding mobilization or illegally crossing the border.
In Zakarpattia, military counterintelligence detained a broker who had developed a “convoy” tactic for smuggling men into the European Union.
Ahead of the main vehicle carrying the clients drove a “scout driver” who monitored the locations of checkpoints, and in case of danger, the evaders were dropped off to cross on foot using maps and instructions.
In Lviv Oblast, law enforcement officers detained a psychiatrist who was selling disability certificates.
In exchange for money, he promised clients that he could influence members of the expert commission assessing an individual’s functional capacity to quickly issue a fictitious Group III disability certificate.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, a perpetrator was exposed who was offering “services” to military personnel who had already been mobilized.
In exchange for bribes, he promised to forge the military medical commission’s conclusions regarding unfitness for combat duty, followed by a transfer to rear units.
The Odesa region made headlines with the arrest of three “emergency medical” workers who used an ambulance to transport men to Transnistria.
At the time of the arrest, another draft dodger was in the ambulance, whom they tried to pass off as a driver-paramedic.
Also in the Odesa region, a farmer came under suspicion for organizing walking routes through forest trails to bypass checkpoints.
Meanwhile, in Vinnytsia, a Kyiv resident was detained who specialized in smuggling clients across the border by swimming across the Dniester River.
Currently, all organizers have been notified of charges under articles regarding the illegal smuggling of persons across the border and abuse of influence.

According to preliminary reports from local media, unrequited love may have been the cause of the altercation.
On Saturday, April 18, 58-year-old Dmytro Vasylchenkov opened fire on passersby on Demiivska Street, after which he took hostages at the “Velmart” supermarket. Six people were killed in the attack, and about 15 others were injured to varying degrees.
Earlier, a video surfaced online showing police officers fleeing from the shooter during the April 18 attack in Kyiv, leaving civilians behind, including a child.
At the instruction of Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko, an internal investigation has been launched into the actions of patrol officers at the scene of the shooting in Kyiv. For the duration of the investigation, the police officers involved in the incident have been suspended from duty.
