One of the largest vegetable oil producers in the Odesa region is suspending operations

Olsids, one of Ukraine’s largest producers and exporters of vegetable oils and meal, is temporarily suspending operations at its facilities in the Odesa region. The reason is the ongoing shelling by Russian terrorists.

“Due to a significant deterioration in the security situation and a substantial intensification by the Russian Federation of missile attacks, as well as attacks using UAVs, on the port and logistics infrastructure of the Odesa region, the Allseeds Group was, unfortunately, forced to decide to suspend its operations in the Odesa region, as continuing operations under current conditions poses extremely high risks to the lives and safety of the company’s employees, as well as to the company’s facilities,” according to a statement on the company’s Facebook page.

As a reminder, the Russian attack on the Odesa region damaged a terminal operated by Kernel, which handles the transshipment of sunflower oil. The strike destroyed approximately 25,000 metric tons of finished products.

Argentina is actively strengthening its position in the global sunflower oil market and has already surpassed Ukraine in one of its key export sectors. The country continues to ramp up production and processing of its products.
