Magnetic storm forecast for June 10: solar activity will decrease

On Wednesday, June 10, the geomagnetic situation will improve significantly. The geomagnetic storm will subside to a green level with a K-index of 3.3, corresponding to calm conditions in Earth’s magnetosphere.

According to experts’ forecasts, geomagnetic activity will remain mostly low, and no significant disturbances are expected in the near future.

At the same time, experts warn that the situation could change in just a few days due to the influence of a high-speed solar wind flow from a centrally located coronal hole on the Sun.

Because of this, short-term G1-level magnetic storms—which are classified as weak geomagnetic storms—cannot be ruled out.

Experts remind us that magnetic storms can affect people’s well-being not only during the active phase but also several days before it begins and after it ends. People who are sensitive to weather changes, pregnant women, and those with chronic illnesses are most likely to react to changes in the geomagnetic background.

Possible symptoms during geomagnetic fluctuations include headaches, weakness, increased fatigue, sleep disturbances, fluctuations in blood pressure, and decreased concentration.

Doctors advise maintaining a regular sleep schedule during these periods, drinking plenty of water, avoiding excessive physical and emotional stress, and spending more time outdoors.

For June 9–10, experts forecast a mostly calm geomagnetic situation with no significant magnetic storms. Despite this, weather-sensitive people may occasionally experience mild changes in their well-being, such as fatigue or headaches, due to fluctuations in solar activity.
