A prosecutor from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office denied that Kropiva was on a business trip to Lviv
During the High Anti-Corruption Court hearing in the “Carthage” case, the prosecutor from the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office stated that Serhiy Kropiva was not in Lviv on an official business trip, as the suspect himself had claimed. According to the prosecutor, Kropiva was wearing shorts at the time of his arrest, and the investigation found no documents confirming that he was on a business trip.
Kropiva’s defense team appealed the decision to keep him in custody with an alternative bail set at 120 million hryvnias. The attorneys requested that the arrest be replaced with house arrest and that the bail amount be reduced. Kropiva himself insisted on bail of 2 million hryvnias.
The prosecutor also stated that while in Lviv, Kropiva was with another defendant in the case—Yelyzaveta Ivakhnenko. According to the prosecution, this contradicted his explanation that he was on a business trip.
Kropiva denied the charges and stated that he had not received any unlawful benefits from the call centers’ operations. He also cast doubt on some of the materials from covert investigative operations, noting that certain phrases and property mentioned in the case allegedly had no connection to him.
At the same time, when asked by the court whether he believed that NABU detectives or prosecutors had fabricated evidence, Kropiva replied that he had not made such a claim.
Kropiva is a suspect in a case involving the alleged “protection” of a network of fraudulent call centers and the laundering of assets. The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) had previously imposed a preventive measure on him in the form of pretrial detention, with an alternative bail set at 120 million hryvnias.

Prosecutor Kropiva, a figure in the NABU investigation, secured a pension of 300,000 at the age of 42 through the courts.
It was previously reported that NABU and the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) are conducting a large-scale special operation at the Office of the Prosecutor General regarding the case of possible “protection” of fraudulent call centers.
Prosecutor General Kravchenko disappeared after the NABU and SAP operation began. According to UP’s sources in political circles, Kravchenko drove into the government district, after which no one saw him.
Later, Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko resurfaced and stated that he had no connection whatsoever to the cover-up of illegal call centers and had not given any instructions to facilitate their operations.
