The Rada did not support the repeal of the tax exemption for parcels valued at up to 150 euros
The Verkhovna Rada rejected Bill No. 12360, which, among other things, would have imposed a tax on international parcels valued at up to 150 euros.
This became known during a parliamentary session.
The bill, which originally concerned the assessment of the effectiveness of customs authorities, was significantly amended before the second reading, with provisions added regarding the taxation of such shipments. During the vote on the second reading and on the bill as a whole, only 127 members of parliament supported it.
Parliament was also unable to send the bill for a repeat second reading—222 deputies voted in favor, falling short of the required 226.
Following this, First Deputy Speaker Oleksandr Kornienko announced that the bill had been rejected.
