The Rada established three temporary special commissions on military justice
The Verkhovna Rada established a Temporary Special Commission (TSC) on the creation of Ukraine’s military justice system. Resolution No. 15353 was supported by 247 members of parliament during Thursday’s plenary session.
People’s Deputy Mariana Bezuhla (“Servant of the People”) was elected chair of the commission.
The new TSC will address issues related to the establishment of Ukraine’s military justice system.
A total of 247 members of parliament voted in favor of Resolution No. 15353. Mariana Bezuhla was appointed chair of the commission.
Separately, members of parliament formed a Temporary Special Commission to investigate possible violations of Ukrainian law regarding public safety under martial law.
The committee will also address issues related to the prevention of and response to emergencies, as well as monitoring the implementation of comprehensive resilience plans for regions and individual cities.
Resolution No. 15561 was passed by 256 members of parliament.
Lesya Zaburanna (“Servant of the People”) was appointed chair of this TSC.
The Verkhovna Rada also established a TSC to prepare reports on the situation in Ukraine’s northern border territories and the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster.
A total of 255 members of parliament voted in favor of Resolution No. 15392.
Arseniy Pushkarenko (“Servant of the People”) was elected chair of the commission.
Thus, parliament has established three temporary special commissions that will address issues of military justice, security and regional resilience, as well as the situation in the northern border regions and the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster.
People’s Deputies Lesya Zaburanna and Oleksandr Kovalchuk of the “Servant of the People” faction proposed that the Verkhovna Rada establish a Temporary Investigative Commission to investigate possible violations of legislation regarding public safety during martial law.
The day before, the Verkhovna Rada received nominations from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to appoint Yevhen Khmara as Minister of Defense of Ukraine and Andriy Sibiga as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Prior to this, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine registered Bill No. 15431, which provides for a large-scale reform of the hunting industry, the digitization of the sector, and changes to hunting regulations. At the same time, the bill has already drawn sharp criticism from animal welfare and environmental organizations, which are calling on members of parliament to reject it during the first reading.
As a reminder, the Verkhovna Rada prematurely terminated the mandates of MPs Denys Maslov and Vitaliy Bezgin, who were members of the “Servant of the People” faction. Parliament adopted the relevant resolutions at a plenary session on July 17.
