Russian attacks have left residents of five regions of Ukraine without power

As of the morning of September 29, Russian shelling had caused power outages in five regions of Ukraine, including Vinnytsia and Zhytomyr. However, no power restrictions for consumers are expected on September 29.

“As a result of hostilities and shelling of energy infrastructure, some consumers in the Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Donetsk, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were without power as of this morning. Restoration work is ongoing wherever the security situation permits,” the Ministry of Energy reported.

Will there be scheduled power outages?

“No restrictions are expected today,” the Ministry of Energy stated.

However, consumers are asked, if possible, to shift their peak electricity usage to daytime hours—from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.—and to limit the use of high-power electrical appliances from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This helps reduce the load on the power grid.

Consumption

According to Ukrenergo, electricity consumption is trending downward. Today, September 29, as of 9:30 a.m., it was 5% lower than at the same time the previous day—Monday. The reason for the change is clear weather across all regions of Ukraine. This allows residential solar power plants to operate efficiently, leading to a corresponding reduction in energy consumption from the main grid. Yesterday, September 28, the daily peak in consumption was recorded in the evening. It was at the same level as the peak on the previous workday—Friday, September 25.

This was reported by the Ministry of Energy.
