Sadovyi apologized for his emotional remarks regarding the air defense system
Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi publicly commented on his controversial statement, made the day before following yet another massive attack by Russian drones on the city.
The mayor emphasized that his words were dictated by a difficult emotional state caused by witnessing the destruction in the historic center, and expressed his full support for Ukraine’s air defenders.
According to the mayor, the Lviv community continues to systematically fulfill requests from military units.
Sadovyi emphasized that he fully trusts the Air Force command regarding the allocation of equipment and resources, as military experts have the full picture of threats across various sectors of the front and rear.
“My reaction to the journalist’s question was emotional and inappropriate. At that moment, I was standing in front of a burning building in the city center and saw the aftermath of the Russian attack. Thank you to everyone who brought this to my attention,” Andriy Sadovyi noted in his statement, acknowledging the inaccuracy of his previous critical remarks.
As a reminder, the commander of the Special Forces responded to Sadovyi’s criticism of Lviv’s defense.
Russia also attacked Lviv with kamikaze drones; there is a fire in the city.
