The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office is requesting bail of more than 13 million hryvnias for Stefanishyna

The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office will file a motion with the court to impose a preventive measure on Olga Stefanishyna in the form of bail in the amount of 13.1 million hryvnias.

SAP Prosecutor Vitaliy Rybalkin reported that the former deputy prime minister has been charged in connection with three separate incidents.

Currently, the prosecution is determining the amount of bail as a necessary preventive measure. The final decision on this matter will be made by the court.

According to the investigation, the official has been charged with three counts: illegal enrichment, as well as two instances of providing false information in her asset declaration. In particular, the alleged offense of illicit enrichment is linked to the purchase of two apartments in the “Faina Town” residential complex in Kyiv. Investigators believe that the real estate, with a total value of 13.9 million hryvnias, was registered in the name of a close friend of the suspect.

In addition, law enforcement officials accuse Stefanishyna of concealing the use of other property and undeclared assets. The prosecutor emphasized that the alleged charge of illegal enrichment carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.

Earlier, Olga Stefanishyna herself publicly commented on the proceedings, noting that she “had nothing to hide and still has nothing to hide,” and that being named a suspect does not constitute proof of guilt.

This was reported by SAPO prosecutor Vitaliy Rybalkin during a recess in the court hearing.

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) served a new charge against Stefanishyna.

As a reminder, Zelenskyy recently dismissed Stefanishyna from her post as Ukraine’s ambassador to the U.S.

NABU conducted searches in connection with the case involving Stefanyishyna’s possible illicit enrichment.
