The SBU has exposed eight pro-Russian agitators in various regions of Ukraine

The Security Service of Ukraine detained eight individuals who were spreading pro-Russian propaganda, justifying Russia’s aggression, and calling for attacks on Ukraine. The suspects were apprehended in Kyiv, Sumy, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, and the Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, and Odesa regions.

In Kyiv, authorities detained a cash collector for a private security company who spread false information about the Defense Forces and shared details on Telegram about checkpoints and mobile units of the Territorial Defense Forces. In Sumy, the administrator of a Telegram channel was placed under suspicion for supporting the shelling of the city and calling on Russia to use the “Sarmat” nuclear missile.

In Dnipro, a member of an underground cell of the so-called “People’s Power” movement was exposed; she had called for a coup d’état and denied Russia’s war crimes. In Kryvyi Rih, a man was detained for calling for a nuclear strike on Kyiv in Telegram chats.

In the Chernihiv region, a mobilized serviceman was exposed for justifying Russian aggression and subsequently deserting his military unit. In the Zhytomyr region, law enforcement identified two unemployed men who supported the occupiers and called for intensified strikes on Ukrainian positions.

In the Odesa region, an agitator was detained for calling for Russian troops to seize the region and annex it to the Russian Federation via TikTok broadcasts.

All suspects have been notified of charges under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, including justifying Russian aggression, propagating war, obstructing the activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and calling for the overthrow of the constitutional order.

The suspects face up to 10 years in prison.
