The Security Service of Ukraine detained a former chief accountant of a seized enterprise from the Luhansk region in the western part of the country; she had been wanted for three years for collaborating with Russian occupiers. The suspect had traveled to Volyn on personal business, where law enforcement officers identified her. She is currently in custody and faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.

In 2015, the suspect participated in the “re-registration” of a coal-mining equipment manufacturing plant with the occupying “LPR judicial authorities.” Subsequently, the enterprise began supplying products to Russian mines, and between September 2016 and January 2020, the suspect transferred over 1.5 million hryvnias (in hryvnia equivalent) to the Russian Federation’s budget in the form of “taxes.” The woman acted as part of a criminal group together with the plant’s owner—a former “deputy of the LPR People’s Council”—and two “CEOs.”

In 2023, SBU investigators served all members of the group with notices of suspicion in absentia under Part 4 of Article 110-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding the financing of actions aimed at altering the borders of Ukraine, and placed them on the wanted list. Currently, the case file regarding the detainee has already been forwarded to the court.
