The Supervisory Board of Gazmerzhi — Naftogaz has been formed

Gas Distribution Networks of Ukraine LLC has officially completed the process of forming its supervisory board.

The strategic management body consists of five specialists, including three independent experts and two representatives from the shareholder—the Naftogaz Group.

The selection of candidates for the positions of independent members was conducted in accordance with strict international standards.

The procedure complied with the OECD Guidelines, and the actual competitive selection was conducted by an independent recruitment agency, which prepared a list of finalists.

Well-known managers and economists became independent members of the board.

Among them are Hennadiy Chyzhykov, who has headed the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for over ten years, and Maryna Petrova, a former deputy director of the EBRD’s office in Ukraine with extensive experience in the financial sector.

The third independent expert is international specialist Justin Gunasinghe.

He has over 15 years of experience in the energy markets of the UK and the UAE, having worked at the well-known British company National Grid, which will provide the board with global expertise.

Lesya Kyrychenko and Natalia Kalimbet will represent the interests of the state and the shareholder on the supervisory board.

Kyrychenko is currently responsible for legal support at Ukrnafta, while Kalimbet heads the management accounting department at JSC Ukrgazvydobuvannya.

Serhiy Koretskyi, head of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, emphasized that the creation of such a body is part of a systemic reform.

“We are consistently implementing best practices in corporate governance across all companies in the Naftogaz Group,” the company’s head noted.
