Eight more Ukrainians have been returned from the temporarily occupied territories
Eight more Ukrainians were able to return home from the temporarily occupied territories.
“On September 10, with the assistance of the Ombudsman’s Office, eight Ukrainian citizens were able to leave the temporarily occupied territories and return home—to territory controlled by the Ukrainian government,” the statement reads.
According to the Ombudsman, MHP, an international company with Ukrainian roots, and its founder and CEO, Yuriy Kosyuk, played a key role in the evacuation.
Lubinec thanked them for their support, assistance, and compassion.
“These are three families who remained in the temporarily occupied territories for a long time. For each of them, returning home marked the beginning of a new chapter—an opportunity to gradually rebuild their lives and receive the necessary care and support after what they’ve been through,” Lubinets noted.
“Occupation isn’t just about restrictions and difficult conditions. It’s about years of silence for the sake of safety. We are deliberately not sharing all the details of these stories, as any detail could jeopardize the safety of those who still remain in the temporarily occupied territories or complicate their future return. We express our sincere gratitude to the International Committee of the Red Cross in Ukraine, the International Charitable Foundation ‘Caritas Ukraine,’ government agencies, humanitarian organizations, medical professionals, social workers, and every specialist involved in this process,” the ombudsman added.
Dmytro Lubinets, the Ukrainian Parliament’s Commissioner for Human Rights, reported this on Facebook.
Another 11 Ukrainian children have been returned from the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson region.
Ukraine has repatriated four more children, aged 6 to 15, from the temporarily occupied territories. Among them are a boy who had been separated from his parents for several years, a girl whose mother was unable to retrieve her for a long time due to the loss of documents, and two teenagers who found themselves under occupation without their families.
