Switzerland to Provide Zhytomyr with 10 Trolleybuses and 1.2 Million Francs for Transport Development

Switzerland will provide Zhytomyr with ten low-floor trolleybuses and also allocate funds for the development of the city’s transport network and staff training.

This was reported by the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine.

The diplomatic mission noted that the country continues to support the development of eco-friendly public transport in Ukraine.
“After Lviv, Vinnytsia, and Chernihiv, this year Zhytomyr will receive 10 low-floor trolleybuses from Lucerne,” the embassy stated.

In addition to the vehicles, Switzerland will provide 1.2 million Swiss francs (approximately 1.3 million euros). These funds will be used for transporting the equipment, developing the trolleybus network, and training personnel.

Kyivpastrans has signed an agreement to purchase 16 new trolleybuses for a total of 306.24 million UAH from the company Politechnoservice, which is associated with the enterprise’s former management. The cost of this model has increased 1.5 times in dollar terms since the full-scale war began.

Earlier, it was reported that a new trolleybus line had been completed in Zhytomyr.
