Ukrenergo has announced whether there will be power outages on May 23
The national energy company Ukrenergo has officially announced that on Saturday, May 23, 2026, there are no plans to impose any scheduled or emergency restrictions on electricity consumption for residential and industrial customers throughout Ukraine.
The transmission system operator published a corresponding statement on its Facebook page.
The balanced state of the power grid allows for uninterrupted power supply to all regions without the need for hourly blackout schedules. Despite the favorable forecasts, the Ukrenergo dispatch center traditionally urges citizens to use electrical appliances responsibly and sparingly. It is especially important to reduce the load on the grid during peak evening hours—from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.—when the country’s total consumption rises sharply. Instead, energy-intensive household activities, such as laundry, ironing, or using dishwashers, are recommended to be moved to daytime hours—from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.—when the system experiences maximum generation, including thanks to the active operation of solar power plants.
As a result of another round of Russian drone and artillery strikes, as well as a significant deterioration in weather conditions, new large-scale power outages were reported in eight regions of Ukraine on the morning of May 22.
Due to inclement weather, power outages have occurred in several regions of Ukraine
