A court in Kharkiv has changed the pretrial detention measure for a car blogger and head of a charitable foundation who is suspected of selling cars imported as humanitarian aid for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. She will now remain in custody with the option of posting bail of nearly one million hryvnias. Valeria Chirina, a spokesperson for the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, informed journalists of this.

On May 22, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kharkiv changed the pretrial measure for Kharkiv blogger Anna Krivuts, who is suspected of being involved in a scheme to import cars under the guise of humanitarian aid for the military. She will now remain in custody with the right to post bail in the amount of 998,400 hryvnias.

Valeria Chirina, spokesperson for the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, announced the court’s decision.

According to the investigation, for more than two years, the woman imported cars from European countries into Ukraine, registering them as humanitarian aid for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This status allowed her to avoid customs duties. However, law enforcement officials claim that instead of transferring some of the vehicles to the military, she sold them to private buyers. “The woman systematically imported cars from European countries, registering them as humanitarian aid for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, instead of transferring the cars to the military, she sold them,” the Office of the Prosecutor General stated.

Investigators have already identified at least nine vehicles that, according to law enforcement, were sold through this scheme. Their total market value exceeds 1.6 million hryvnias.

Separately, law enforcement is investigating another 379 vehicles registered to the “Front Line” charitable foundation, of which Anna Krivuts is the director. On social media, she is known by the username danger.ann. She has long maintained a car blog and has repeatedly been involved in scandals due to conflicts with the patrol police. In her videos, the blogger posted recordings of arguments with law enforcement officers, refused to show her documents, and demonstrated how she locks herself in her car during inspections.

Additionally, media reports noted that back in 2018, the woman received a large fine for using an unregistered vehicle. At the time, she claimed she was not the owner of the car and called the fine “revenge” by law enforcement.

Also, according to the public organization “Kharkiv Anti-Corruption Center,” the “Front Line” charitable foundation was previously mentioned in case materials regarding the possible organization of men’s travel abroad through the “Shlyakh” system.

On May 15, the court had already imposed a bail condition on the suspect. The prosecutor’s office disagreed with this decision and filed an appeal, after which the court decided to tighten the preventive measure.
