Sweden has donated generators to three Ukrainian regions
Sweden has delivered 31 metric tons of equipment to the Poltava, Kyiv, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions to strengthen the resilience of essential services and prepare for the winter season.
The humanitarian shipment includes stationary diesel generators for medical facilities, utility companies, and digital infrastructure, as well as equipment for the production and processing of concrete blocks. In the Poltava region, the generators will help hospitals continue operating during power outages; in the Kyiv region, the backup power will ensure the functioning of critical facilities; and in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, the delivered equipment will be used to support local infrastructure.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Energy emphasized that this aid will strengthen the protection and resilience of civilian infrastructure amid ongoing Russian attacks.
This is stated in a press release from the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy in Kharkiv.
Since the beginning of 2026, Ukraine has received more than 4,700 pieces of equipment from international partners to restore and maintain its energy infrastructure.
In Kyiv, efforts have begun to build up stockpiles of food and drinking water in case of prolonged power outages and other emergencies. The city aims to prepare reserves in advance that can be used at resilience centers and to assist people in the event of large-scale disruptions.
