Sibiga commented on Israel's refusal to accept grain from the occupied territories
On Thursday, April 30, Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga described the Israeli company’s refusal to unload the Panormitis as an important signal to the market. Ukraine will continue to monitor the vessel and urges its international partners not to cooperate with carriers of stolen grain.
He posted a comment to that effect on social media platform X.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha called the Israeli company’s refusal to accept grain from Ukraine’s temporarily occupied territories, which is on board the Panormitis, a positive step, stating that the Ukrainian side will continue to monitor this vessel.
“We continue to monitor this vessel and warn everyone against any cooperation with it. We will continue to intensify sanctions pressure on the Russian ‘shadow fleet’ engaged in grain exports,” Sibiga wrote on Thursday.
According to him, the refusal to unload the Panormitis in Israel “demonstrates the effectiveness of Ukraine’s legal and diplomatic efforts.” “At the same time, this is a clear signal to all other vessels, captains, operators, insurers, and governments: do not buy stolen Ukrainian grain. Do not become accomplices to this crime,” Sibiga emphasized.
As a reminder, Israel has called on Ukraine to provide evidence regarding the stolen grain.
In turn, Ukraine is asking Israel to seize the ship carrying the stolen grain — Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Later, the ship carrying the stolen Ukrainian grain left Israel.
