The Ukrainian Armed Forces' logistics units expressed their support for Syrsky and reported problems with supplying the army

The Command of the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine publicly supported Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi and stated that the resignation of former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov helped stabilize the military supply system.

A statement by Valeriy Shershny, spokesperson for the Logistics Forces Command, notes that in the first half of 2026, the supply of the Armed Forces of Ukraine deteriorated due to a funding shortfall, bureaucratic delays, depletion of stockpiles, irregular deliveries, and problems with quality control in procurement.

According to him, the timely intervention of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and personnel decisions within the Ministry of Defense prevented the situation from deteriorating even further.

The Command also reported a shortage of funds for fuel, equipment repairs, winter gear, weapons procurement, and international military aid. It is noted that by the end of the year, nearly 37 billion hryvnias will be needed for the logistical support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and another 16 billion hryvnias will be required for the repair of weapons and military equipment.

Separately, Shershen criticized the procurement system, citing delays in the delivery of pickup trucks, quality issues with certain types of ammunition, and an inadequate accountability mechanism for suppliers.

At the end of his statement, he emphasized that responsibility for supply issues cannot be placed on Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, and he also highlighted Syrskyi’s role in leading the Armed Forces’ defensive and offensive operations.

As a reminder, Zelenskyy may replace Syrskyi with Joint Forces Commander Drapato.

Zelenskyy met with commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On July 20, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the Secretary of State of the Holy See, Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher. The parties discussed support for Ukraine, the activities of the Church, peace initiatives, and the country’s European integration.
