Forecasters predict rain and nighttime frosts for Ukraine on April 21

Cloudy weather with precipitation is expected in most regions of the country on April 21, and temperatures are expected to drop below freezing in a number of regions. 

This was reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center on Facebook. 

Moderate and, in some places, heavy rain is expected in Zakarpattia, Prykarpattia, as well as in the southern and southeastern regions, while wet snow is forecast for the Carpathians. In the northern, central, and parts of the western regions, overnight air temperatures are expected to drop to 0–3° below freezing. 

No significant precipitation is expected in Kyiv and the surrounding region, though nighttime ground temperatures will also drop to 0–3° below freezing. Winds will be predominantly from the north at 7–12 m/s, with gusts up to 20 m/s in the southern part of the country. 

Daytime temperatures in most regions will range between 7–12°C. These weather conditions are caused by the movement of cold air masses, which is typical for this time of year, but require special attention from farmers due to the threat to crops. 

Monday, April 20, 2026, brought a noticeable drop in temperature and rainy weather to Ukraine.

After a cold winter, Ukrainians are looking forward to spring warmth, but April will bring not only sunshine but also weather “swings.”
