Syrsky ordered that medical care for the military be stepped up
On June 17, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi outlined priorities for medical support of the troops. Among the key tasks are strengthening disease prevention, early detection of health issues among service members, and increasing the number of medical personnel.
“When we talk about preserving the lives and health of our service members, we’re not just talking about evacuation from the battlefield and treating the wounded. An equally important task is preventing illness and maintaining the good health of our service members,” Syrskyi wrote.
According to him, despite the difficult conditions of war, Ukrainian servicemembers must receive the highest quality medical care, proper preventive care, and effective treatment. In this regard, the Commander-in-Chief instructed the Medical Forces Command to intensify efforts to prevent illness and to prepare proposals for increasing the number of medical personnel.

During the meeting, a decision was also made to further strengthen the capabilities of medical evacuation units, in particular by providing additional armored vehicles and modern electronic warfare equipment.
Special attention was given to training service members in tactical medicine. According to Syrskyi, the amount of tactical medicine training during basic military training has already been increased to 40 hours, but efforts are needed to improve the quality of such training.

In addition, the Commander-in-Chief emphasized in a Telegram post the importance of systematic medical care for service members, including vaccinations, regular medical examinations, screening programs, and early detection of diseases.
Earlier, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi held a meeting with Lieutenant General Curtis Bazzard, commander of the NATO Special Assistance and Training Mission for Ukraine (NSATU) and the Security Assistance Group for Ukraine (SAG-U).
As a reminder, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi approved the Concept for the Development of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Missile Forces and Artillery, which outlines the key directions for the development of these branches of the military through 2030.
