The investigation has documented pressure being exerted on an expert in the Yermak case
An expert whom NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) had enlisted to conduct an investigation into the controversial construction of the “Dynasty” residential complex in the case against Andriy Yermak was openly threatened.
This was reported by Anastasia Radina, a member of parliament from the “Servant of the People” faction and chair of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Anti-Corruption Activities.
Unknown individuals demanded that the woman immediately cease her work on this project.
The suspect’s correspondence, made public by law enforcement, is a direct part of the evidence demonstrating the risk of obstructing the investigation. Prosecutors must demonstrate to the court the existence of such threats to justify detention.
Radina emphasized that the SAPO’s evidence concerned not only discussions of personnel appointments in the security sector with third parties.
The suspect’s driver was also found to have printouts listing positions within the SBU, where “minimum” and “maximum” options were noted. However, the key factor was the pressure exerted on the expert involved.
“And this part of the story deserves much more attention than ‘feng shui.’ In court, the SAPO prosecutor noted that the expert was openly threatened. Specifically, she was ‘approached’ with demands to stop working on the expert assessment of this construction project—the expert herself testified to this,” the MP stated.
Investigative authorities additionally established that representatives of the SBU had collected the woman’s personal data through closed databases.
Subsequently, this confidential information appeared on anonymous Telegram channels directly linked to the security agency.
