Ukraine has begun using drones to search for landmines
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has begun training specialists who will search for mines and other explosive devices using drones and special magnetometers.
This was reported by the press service of the country’s defense ministry.
This cutting-edge method allows for the effective detection of even the slightest changes in the Earth’s magnetic field during aerial monitoring of territories.
The introduction of innovative technologies is intended to significantly accelerate the process of clearing Ukrainian lands of deadly traps.
The main advantage of remote scanning is that “it allows for the detection of hidden metal objects from the air, minimizing risks to personnel.”
As part of a specialized course, military personnel have already successfully completed a full cycle of practical training with unmanned aerial systems.
A separate and crucial element of the training was working with magnetometers—high-tech systems that scan the ground and detect hidden munitions, significantly reducing risks to personnel.
Modern equipment helps operators create accurate maps of minefields without requiring sappers to enter the danger zone directly.
New technologies will help demining specialists more effectively clear de-occupied territories of the remnants of Russian aggression.
