In Brovary, a father brutally beat his 7-year-old son

In Brovary, Kyiv Oblast, a father brutally beat his 7-year-old son until he lost consciousness.

Ukrainian MP Pavlo Sushko reported on this egregious incident and systemic problems in the protection of minors’ rights on his official page.

The boy suffered severe head injuries, brain swelling, and numerous injuries throughout his body, and doctors are currently fighting to save his life.

The lawmaker emphasized that the tragedy is not a “sudden incident,” as the family was already under the scrutiny of law enforcement while living in the capital.

At that time, neighbors repeatedly called the police, and officers filed reports due to obvious signs of domestic violence.

In other words, warning signs had existed for a long time, but the responsible authorities deliberately did not remove the children from the family and did not even place them on the appropriate registry.

According to the MP, the work of the “Cheburashka” Center for Children and Families is currently effectively being blocked in the Kyiv region.

This specialized facility is supposed to promptly take in minors who have been removed from environments that pose a threat to their health and lives.

It is precisely because of the lack of places for further placement that officials are widely ignoring the documentation of threats to children.

“Because if you register children, you have to remove them. You have to place them somewhere. You have to save them. And for that, such centers must be operational,” Sushko stated.

A similar critical situation involving the blocking of specialized institutions is currently being observed in the Kharkiv region as well.

According to data available to the MP, Vita Kovalskaya, deputy head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, is blocking the work of the local “Harmony” and “Hope” centers.

Sushko emphasized that such actions by officials in various regions of the country already appear to be clearly planned and “systematic sabotage at the state level.”
