Heat in the south and thunderstorms in most regions: weather forecast for June 9
On Tuesday, June 9, cloudy weather with some sunny intervals is expected across Ukraine. Short-lived showers and thunderstorms are forecast for most regions, while hot weather will persist in the south. In Kyiv, forecasters predict temperatures of 22–24°C during the day.
Cloud cover will be variable across Ukraine. Rain is expected overnight in most northern, central, and southern regions, and during the day throughout the country except in the west, with thunderstorms in some areas. Winds will be predominantly northwesterly, 5–10 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will range from 13–18°C, and 10–15°C in western regions; daytime highs will be 20–25°C, reaching up to 28°C in the south and southeast of the country.
Forecasters explain: On June 9–11, in most regions, summer-like unstable weather will be caused by atmospheric fronts in a low-pressure system and a warm, moist air mass. This weather pattern will promote active convection, especially during the day, leading to typical summer showers that will vary widely in location and intensity. Pressure and humidity will fluctuate.
On Tuesday, June 9, Kyiv will be cloudy with some sunny breaks, and brief showers are expected. The wind will be northwesterly, 5–10 m/s. The temperature in the capital will be 22–24°, according to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.
