On Wednesday, July 16, the rainy weather will begin to subside, and it will get warmer in most regions of Ukraine. At the same time, localized precipitation is still possible in some regions, but overall, summer warmth will gradually spread across the country.

Forecasters predict rising temperatures, but no extreme heat is expected in the near future.

What kind of weather will Ukrainians experience on July 16?

An expert noted that right now we are “in the midst of summer, wearing light summer dresses and smelling the flowers.”

“This is like the famous glass of water—is it half empty or half full? Some are already grumbling that half of summer is gone, while others are rejoicing that half of summer is still ahead,” Didenko noted.

According to her, significant precipitation in Ukraine is unlikely over the next 24 hours—on July 16.

Daytime temperatures are expected to range:

  • an average of +25...+30°C nationwide;

  • in the Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Poltava regions, +23...+27°C.

What kind of weather should Kyiv residents expect?

According to Didenko, the weather in Kyiv on Thursday is expected to be very warm:

  • with air temperatures around +26...+27°C;

  • with no significant precipitation.

Based on the weather forecast chart from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, the coming night in the capital will be even warmer than the previous one—around +21°C.

“Let’s stay warm. Summer is coming of age, so we’re trying to wear all our light dresses, breezy pants, strappy tops, and all kinds of linen, batiste, and silk. Preferably in bright colors,” Didenko concluded.

This was reported with reference to a post by meteorologist and weather forecaster Natalka Didenko on Facebook.

As a reminder, Belgium has recorded a sharp rise in mortality amid a severe heat wave. According to the Sciensano Institute of Public Health, the excess mortality rate reached 47%—the highest figure since records began in 2000.
