As he was leaving, Fedorov announced the successful test of a ballistic missile

UA NEWS 15 July 2026 23:01
As he was leaving, Fedorov announced the successful test of a ballistic missile

Mykhailo Fedorov, summarizing his work as defense minister, reported that a successful test of a Ukrainian ballistic missile took place on July 14.

“Our ballistic missile. Symbolically, on the day the government was dismissed, we conducted a successful test of a ballistic missile developed under the Ministry of Defense’s jurisdiction. We radically revised the technical specifications and demonstrated maximum accuracy. We reduced the price by 30%. Ukraine will enter a new league,” he said.

Since Fedorov emphasized that this is specifically a state program—meaning it does not involve the promised missiles from FirePoint—he was likely referring to the “Sapsan” operational-tactical complex.

In June 2025, it was reported that Ukraine had successfully tested its own “Sapsan” ballistic missile (export name “Grim-2”), and that it would soon enter mass production.

Ukrainian “Sapsan” ballistic missiles may have been used during the attack on Voronezh on November 18, 2025.

Zelenskyy acknowledged that Fedorov lost his position due to a conflict with Syrskyi.

Ukrainian MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak has revealed the likely composition of the new Cabinet of Ministers, which may be headed by Serhiy Koretskyi. At the same time, a final decision on some of the candidates has not yet been made, particularly regarding Fedorov.

Zelenskyy had also previously stated that he had not yet made a decision regarding Fedorov’s future in the government.
