The case involving the misappropriation of Academician Shalimov's apartment has been referred to court
Prosecutors have filed an indictment against a man who fraudulently took possession of an apartment in Kyiv belonging to academician Oleksandr Shalimov, valued at over 4.8 million hryvnias. According to the investigation, he forged documents, registered the apartment in his own name, and sold it the very next day.
The apartment in Obolon had been allocated to the academician by the mayor at the time. After the doctor’s death, his wife lived in the apartment, and later a relative of hers, but they did not officially register ownership of the property.
According to the investigation, the perpetrators took advantage of the lack of property registration and forged documents to make it appear as though the defendant had invested in the construction of this apartment back in 2005. Based on these documents and the fact that the apartment was not registered in anyone’s name, in the summer of 2024, the defendant used a private notary to register ownership of the apartment. The very next day, he sold the apartment, and some time later, the new owner resold it to a legal entity.
According to an expert appraisal, the value of the apartment—which, following the deaths of the doctor and his wife, was supposed to become municipal property—exceeds 4.8 million hryvnias. The apartment has been seized.
The actions of the defendant, who registered ownership of the apartment in his name and immediately sold it, have been classified as document forgery, fraud on an especially large scale, and the legalization of property obtained by criminal means.

Earlier, the Solomyanskyi District Court issued a statement regarding the scandal surrounding Ishunina.
Journalist Volodymyr Bondarenko called on law enforcement to investigate the possible role of one of the employees of JSC “Aviation and Rocket-Technical Machinery Building Company” Konstantin Ishunin in the case of the tragedy in Vyshneve, where an ammunition depot detonated on July 6 following a Russian missile strike.
The court returned the Kyiv-based October Palace to the state.
