The case involving the explosion of a package at a postal terminal in Kyiv has been referred to court
The Kyiv Police have completed their pretrial investigation and referred the case file of a 35-year-old resident of Zaporizhzhia Oblast to court. The man is accused of sending a package containing ammunition, the explosion of which at a postal terminal in the Obolon district of the capital resulted in the death of one person and injuries to two others.
The tragedy occurred on June 5 while the package was being transported and sorted. A 59-year-old postal worker was killed when the ammunition detonated, and two men, aged 37 and 41, were injured. At the scene, bomb disposal experts discovered remnants of the shells.
Police and SBU officers determined within a few hours that the suspect had sent the package to a friend, after which they detained him. The indictment has now been filed with the court.
