The court imposed a pretrial restriction on a key witness in the case involving NABU detective Magamedrasulov

A judge at the Shevchenkivskyi District Court began hearing the case against Yusuf Mameshev, a key witness in the case involving NABU detective Ruslan Magamedrasulov. The prosecutor read the indictment, and the court partially granted the motion for a preventive measure, ordering Mameshev to surrender his foreign passports and report any change in his place of employment.

This was reported by the Anti-Corruption Action Center, noting that the prosecutor did not provide evidence to substantiate the risks justifying the pretrial measure.

Mameshev is accused of allegedly giving false testimony after he corroborated the defense’s version of events regarding conversations about the sale of industrial hemp to Uzbekistan, rather than to Russia. The case against the witness was filed the day after he testified in court in favor of Magamedrasulov. The Center for Civil Liberties views this as an attempt to punish a witness whose testimony undermines the SBU’s version of events. The court will continue hearing Mameshev’s case at subsequent hearings.

As a reminder, suspect Magamedrasulov confirmed that he was tortured in the detention center and did not dispute the authenticity of the so-called “Mindich tapes.”

On December 2, the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv released Sentyabr Magamedrasulov, the father of NABU detective Ruslan Magamedrasulov, from pretrial detention; both are suspected of “organizing illegal trade with the Russian Federation.”
