The court imposed a pretrial restriction on MP Dubinsky
The Pechersky District Court of Kyiv granted the prosecutors’ motion, ordering that the suspect, People’s Deputy Oleksandr Dubinsky, be held in custody for 60 days without the possibility of bail. Although official sources did not name him in their reports, the deputy himself publicly confirmed the court’s decision regarding his case. Investigators accuse the politician of systematically spreading Russian narratives via social media with the aim of destabilizing the situation in the country and disrupting mobilization efforts.
This was reported by Suspilne.
According to the case file, the suspect used social media platforms to disseminate messages beneficial to the aggressor country, specifically on Telegram, Facebook, and Instagram. Law enforcement officials view these actions as signs of treason, as such activities undermined the state’s defense capabilities. The pre-trial investigation is currently ongoing, and investigators are continuing to gather evidence regarding the deputy’s alleged coordination with foreign intelligence services.
Prior to this, MP Oleksandr Dubinsky, a former member of the “Servant of the People” faction, was served with another charge of treason. This pertains to the dissemination of narratives which, according to the investigation, could have benefited Russia. According to law enforcement, the new episodes of the case concern his public statements and informational activities. The investigation established that the suspect systematically used his own pages on Telegram, Facebook, and Instagram to spread narratives beneficial to the Russian Federation. The published materials were aimed at undermining trust in state institutions, discrediting the country’s political course, and creating conditions to disrupt mobilization.
Oleksandr Dubinsky was placed in pretrial detention in November 2023 on suspicion of collaborating with the Russian GRU and participating in a criminal organization created to discredit Ukraine on the international stage. The investigation provided evidence that Dubinsky and other members of the group received over $10 million from Russian military intelligence, and the facts of collaboration with enemy intelligence services remain the key argument for holding him in custody without the right to bail.
As a reminder, the court extended the detention of MP Oleksandr Dubinsky. At the same time, the court set an alternative to detention—bail in the amount of over 33 million hryvnias.
