The court extended Gusakov's house arrest in the case involving fraudulent fundraising
The Pechersky District Court of Kyiv has extended the pretrial detention order for Nazarii Gusakov. He is suspected of fraudulently raising funds allegedly for the treatment of spinal muscular atrophy. The court upheld the nighttime house arrest for another two months.
This was reported to Ukrinform by the court’s spokesperson, Judge Maria Pylaeva, in response to a question regarding the extension of Gusakov’s pretrial detention.
“His nighttime house arrest was extended on May 22, 2026, for another two months,” she said.
Earlier, journalist Olga Khudetska stated that activist Nazarii Gusakov, who suffers from spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), had demanded donations from wounded soldiers and “traded on his connections.”
The Office of the Prosecutor General will soon announce charges in absentia against Nazarii Gusakov, who suffers from spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). The activist faces allegations of fraud during a fundraising campaign for his treatment.
