A court imposed a 70 million hryvnia fine on the former deputy director of UkSATSE
The High Anti-Corruption Court found the former first deputy director of the state-owned enterprise “Ukraerorukh” guilty of official negligence that resulted in serious consequences—losses totaling 160 million hryvnias. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison but was exempted from serving the sentence due to the expiration of the statute of limitations. However, he will have to pay a fine of 70 million hryvnias.
The defendant was also fined 12,750 UAH, barred from holding certain positions for three years, and his Toyota Sequoia with a trailer was impounded. The verdict may be appealed to the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court within 30 days.

The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office filed an indictment with the court in the case involving the loss of 160 million hryvnias by UkSATSE at Platinum Bank. In 2016, the then-first deputy director and deputy director of the state-owned enterprise, ignoring an order from their immediate superior and warnings from the Ministry of Infrastructure, continued to make payments through the troubled Platinum Bank and deposit funds there. Consequently, when the bank was declared bankrupt in January 2017, the state-owned enterprise lost its assets there. Thus, the actions of the former UkSATSE officials resulted in losses of 160 million hryvnias.
