The court remanded two more soldiers in custody in connection with the drug case involving Shirshin's car
The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv imposed a preventive measure on two more military personnel suspected of involvement in planting drugs in the car of Ukrainian Armed Forces Major Oleksandr Shyrshyn.
Both suspects were taken into custody, though the court allowed for the possibility of bail. The bail amount is 12.6 million hryvnias for each.
Shirshin himself announced the decision on September 11. The information was later confirmed by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
As a reminder, on August 28, Shyrshyn stated that police had found narcotics in his car. The former commander of the 47th Mechanized Brigade’s “Magura” battalion denied using them and suggested that his conflict with servicemen from the 225th Separate Assault Regiment might be behind the incident.
On September 9, the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) reported the apprehension of three military personnel who, according to the investigation, had placed drugs in a car parked near Shyrshyn’s home in Kharkiv. The drugs consisted of approximately 30 zip-top bags containing cannabis and PVP.
The investigation established that the suspects had been following the officer, and after he left his home, they informed the police that he was allegedly transporting drugs. They are charged with unlawful entry into a residence, illegal trafficking of narcotic substances, disclosure of confidential information, and incitement to unlawfully bring a person to criminal liability.

The court ordered military serviceman T. V. Aliyev to remain in custody until November 8, with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of 14.976 million hryvnias. He is one of three suspects in the case involving the organization of a provocation and the planting of narcotics in the car of Oleksandr Shyrshyn, the former commander of the Magura Battalion of the 47th Brigade.
