The court upheld the seizure of a house linked to Yanukovych's mistress
The Pechersky District Court of Kyiv denied a request to lift the seizure of a house and land plots in Novi Petrivtsi, which are linked to the inner circle of former President Viktor Yanukovych.
The property in question consists of a 417-square-meter house and two plots in the “Lazariv Sad” neighborhood near Mezhyhiria.
The new owner’s defense team insisted that the property was legally purchased in 2021, free of encumbrances, and subsequently renovated.
However, investigators from the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) consider the purchase and sale agreements to be fictitious and potentially intended to conceal assets linked to Yanukovych.
The case file also notes that the owner’s income did not correspond to the value of the purchased property.
The court concluded that there are no grounds for lifting the seizure, as the investigation is ongoing.
An appeal against this decision has already been filed with the appellate court.
As a reminder, the Russian state propaganda agency RIA Novosti published a video statement by former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.
The court also handed down a verdict against Yanukovych for the misappropriation of land in Sukholuchchi.
