A court ordered a Lviv resident to replace the plastic windows and doors in a historic building
The Lviv District Administrative Court ordered the owner of an apartment in a historic building at 9 Pidvalna Street to restore the authentic appearance of the 18th–19th-century architectural monument, which is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Once the ruling becomes final, the woman must remove the plastic windows and doors and install wooden ones, coordinating with the Office for the Protection of Cultural Heritage regarding the installation method, profile, design, and color of the new structures.
The Lviv City Council noted that the request to restore the building’s historic appearance was sent to the owner back in 2025, but she failed to comply, prompting the city to file a lawsuit.
The decision has not yet taken legal effect and may be appealed.
