A father of many children who has accumulated more than 400,000 in child support debt will stand trial
A 46-year-old resident of Chernivtsi evaded paying child support for his three minor children for seven years. During that time, the amount owed exceeded 400,000 hryvnias.
As established by juvenile prosecutors, in 2019 a court ordered the man to make regular child support payments. However, he failed to do so until 2026, even though he was aware of the court’s decision and had a steady job with a stable income.
The man was notified of charges under Part 1 of Article 164 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—evasion of child support payments. The case materials have already been forwarded to the court.
If found guilty, the Chernivtsi resident faces up to two years of restricted liberty.

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) announced a special operation to expose a criminal organization which, according to preliminary data, operated under the leadership of a current and a former member of the Ukrainian Parliament and with the participation of high-ranking officials from the Office of the President and other individuals.
As a reminder, the High Anti-Corruption Court recently convicted a relative of Member of Parliament Goncharenko.
The actions and financial status of former Deputy Prosecutor General Dmytro Verbytskyi warrant a thorough investigation by anti-corruption authorities. This opinion was expressed by Oleksiy Goncharenko, a member of parliament and chairman of the Verkhovna Rada’s Temporary Investigative Commission, in an interview with UA.News.
